Remika chose to be in real estate because of her father’s successful career in the biz and after her individual career in property management. She is ready to lead the Atlanta market with entrepreneurial enthusiasm and an objective to give agents support when they need it. Q: What inspired you to start your real estate career?
My father introduced me to real estate. He held licensing as an appraiser, real estate agent, then broker. I have always had a natural “knack” for real estate and have been fascinated with the unlimited opportunities. After being in property management for 18 years, I decided to pursue real estate, fully realizing it as my true passion. It just felt right.
Q: What was that moment or time period when you knew you had a passion for helping clients achieve their goals?
I love people! I have a sincere passion to see people be better. It becomes easier to help clients when you hone in on their needs and desires. Having true empathy allows you to serve people so that they ultimately meet their goals.
Q: What is the best real estate advice you’ve read or received?
Time is our most valuable asset. It’s something I read by Gary Keller in The ONE Thing: “Long hours spent checking off a to-do list and ending the day with a full trash can and a clean desk are not virtuous and have nothing to do with success. Instead of a to-do list, you need a success list– a list that is purposefully created around extraordinary results.”
Q: What are some nuances of the Georgia real estate market(s)?
Georgia is a great place to live and invest. Housing costs are below the national average. Georgia home prices are up about 23% YOY in metro Atlanta as of July 2022. This is due to the supply (listings are down 4%) with a surplus of buyers. The population is expected to grow by another 1.1 million people by 2030. Economic growth is anticipated in tech, hospitality, personal services, logistics, and warehousing by 4.3%. This will happen in Atlanta but prominently in surrounding metropolitan cities (30+ miles from the city center) creating great opportunity.
Q: New Realtors® often struggle with lead generation, what would your advice be to a brand new agent in building their business?
Find your niche in your local community or preferred market. Research other Realtors® in your market. How are they marketing themselves? Is it repetitive? If so, do something different! Stand out! Make a marketing plan and work the plan! Consistency is key. Get acquainted with the CRM program and never abandon leads (nurture them). A single lead can turn into countless opportunities!
Q: Although Worth Clark Realty has established itself in many markets, making a switch to a brokerage new to your market can be stressful and there can be many unknowns. What first attracted you to Worth Clark?
I was attracted to Worth Clark’s forward-thinking brokerage model. We all see the real estate industry changing. The WCR model allows agents to truly own their business. The model offers key support to agents while removing the narrow financial commission splits and inhibitive antiquated office policies. WCR agents can focus on building their business by serving clients.
Q: Has the transition from one brokerage to another been stress-free?
Yes! Worth Clark has the support in place that has made the transition seamless.
Q: What would you tell agents in your area who are considering joining Worth Clark?
I have always been a firm believer in studying the greats– gaining wisdom from those who perform well and learning from their mistakes. Don’t waste your precious time and hard-earned money (I’ve done it)! Join the WCR team to get the support you need to build a successful career in real estate!
Q: What are you most excited about in leading the Atlanta market as Worth Clark’s managing broker?
I’m excited to watch WCR grow in the Atlanta market. I am looking forward to seeing agents grow to their full potential and achieve their goals. I am thankful to be a part of that change in the lives of each agent that makes the exceptional decision to partner with WCR.
