Can you share a bit about your background and what led you into the real estate industry?
I was born in Santa Monica and grew up in a family with entrepreneurs and salespeople in every corner of America. I owe my eventual interest to my dad’s dedication to real estate for a combined 30 years with his wife. I say eventually because as a typical teen, I was determined to do my own thing and veered into nonprofits for 15 years helping homeless families establish permanent and stable residency. Despite a very successful career, I desired more control over my time. The decision was made and I began my journey in Hawaii going door to door selling rooftop solar. After climbing to the highest-grossing agent in the state, I realized that being an entrepreneur was the way to go. I then moved to Washington to be closer to family and finally took my father’s advice and transitioned into real estate and have never looked back.
What initially attracted you to the opportunity at Worth Clark Realty?
Without a doubt, it was the people working tirelessly behind the scenes. Real estate is a big business, but at the end of the day, it’s the relationships we make along the way that truly define the industry. Worth Clark Realty is a brokerage filled with incredibly hard-working and dedicated individuals who love the company they work for. Those are the kind of people I want to be around.
What are some of the most valuable lessons you’ve learned throughout your career?
Don’t be afraid of failure. You will learn more from one mistake than you ever will from your combined success and victories. Be humble. Hubris often follows the wake of victory and blinds you to new paths and opportunities. The moment you stop learning, you stop developing. So stay humble, be willing to fail, ceaselessly learn, and be wary of the inevitable comforts of success.
How do you see your previous experiences contributing to your role as Vice President of Corporate Growth here?
Without a doubt, I would not be here today without the people I had the privilege to work alongside. My father taught me the keen insights and dedication required to be a top producer. Rachelle Willhite taught me not only how to develop a market but also how to lead and develop people. My good friend and longtime mentor John Stothers’ invaluable insights and stern words ensured I never lost track of who I was, or what is ultimately most important. I’m excited about the opportunity to take these lessons and apply them here at Worth Clark.
What are some growth strategies you’re excited to implement at Worth Clark?
A growth strategy at Worth Clark is like a mechanic and driver looking at a NASCAR and wondering how to push it down the track even faster. What excites me the most is the growth Worth Clark already has and the opportunity to build a stable and sustainable plan for growth in the future while developing the local communities our agents are already a part of. Part of growth is managing what you have already achieved and securing that success opens opportunities for sustainable growth in the future.
What aspects of Worth Clark’s mission and vision resonate most with you?
Worth Clark understands that times are changing, and the way a brokerage connects with its agents needs to adapt to those changes. Entrepreneurship today is very different than it was in 2015 or even as late as 2018, and Worth Clark has adapted. With a transparent business model for agents to build a foundation upon alongside the opportunity to have ownership in the company, Worth Clark delivered what it promised, and that resonated with me the most.
What advice would you give to agents and brokers looking to thrive at Worth Clark Realty?
Worth Clark has unparalleled support and is an industry leader offering a support guarantee to each and every agent, broker, team, and partner.
