Q: What inspired you to start your real estate career?
A. I got into the business because my father-in-law was a successful real estate broker in Oklahoma City. The first time I met my future father-in-law was at a customer appreciation party for his clients. I loved watching him interact with the clients who had become friends over time. Soon after, I got my license and hung it under his brokerage, 1st Priority Realty. I saw this business as an opportunity to make an excellent living by helping others. What could be better than getting rewarded for helping others?
Q: What was that moment or time period that you knew you had a passion for helping clients achieve their goals?
A. For me, this occurred at the onset. Selling a home is one of the most rewarding things that anyone can sell because of all of the memories created within the home. Knowing you are a part of the customer’s journey is incredibly worthwhile.
Q: What is the best real estate advice you’ve read or received?
A. If you treat people honestly and fairly and work hard, the money will follow. If you do this consistently day in and day out and stay in touch, referrals will eventually start flowing in. Never look at a customer like a commission, but instead, how you can help.
Q: New Realtors® often struggle with lead generation. What would your advice be to a brand new agent in building their business?
A. The national average for online lead conversion is 1%, but you can raise this a few percentage points by nurturing the leads. You must have good time management and organization using a CRM to nurture the hot prospects continuously. One change that I made in my own business was to develop a bio letter about me. This bio letter is utilized in my initial emails, CMA’s, letters I mail announcing a new listing, FSBO knocking, etc. It humanizes me to the customers, which is hard to do from the other end of an initial phone call.
Q: Although Worth Clark Realty has established itself in many markets, making a switch to a brokerage new to your market can be stressful, and there can be many unknowns. What first attracted you to Worth Clark?
A. I was attracted to Worth Clark because I believe brick-and-mortar real estate offices are becoming obsolete. As many businesses turn to hybrid or work-from-home business models, I believe that real estate will follow suit, and we already see a move towards this in the real estate industry. I was also pleased to see all of the back-end support in place to help agents grow their businesses.
Q: Has the transition from one brokerage to another been stress-free?
A. Yes, the onboarding process has been extremely efficient and stress-free.
Q: What would you tell agents in your area who are considering joining Worth Clark?
A. When you sell real estate, this is your own business. Only you control your own destiny. I believe you should always be paid what you are worth. Worth Clark provides the framework for marketing, a CRM, and back-end support to be successful and earn all of your money. From there, the rest is up to you!
