When Samantha Trenhaile and her husband, a 15-year Marine Corps veteran, were relocated to St. Louis, they encountered a disappointing homebuying experience that would ultimately inspire Samantha’s path into real estate.
“We were using a VA loan, and our agent tried to charge us unnecessary fees. He never showed up for inspections, didn’t communicate, and even refused to release us from the contract,” Samantha said. “Thankfully, a friend in real estate helped me navigate things. That experience drove me to say, ‘This should never happen to anyone else.’” She chose real estate because of a desire to help others avoid the difficult situation she and her husband faced.
With a degree in architecture and interior design and a deep commitment to helping others, Samantha turned a personal hardship into a mission: to offer the kind of guidance and care she wished she’d had.
Leading with Service and Faith
At the heart of Samantha’s approach is her faith and a people-first mindset. She emphasizes communication, transparency, and a problem-solving mentality that puts her clients at ease. Samantha tries to find a solution to a problem before notifying her clients and guides them through any issues that arise.
Samantha shared her favorite piece of advice: “Live by putting others first. Whether it’s buyers or sellers, I want them to know I’m here to guide them—and that they can trust me.”
Building a Business Rooted in Community
To those just starting in real estate, Samantha’s advice is clear: start local and lead with value. She believes in being a go-to resource for friends, family, and neighbors—even when the question isn’t directly about buying or selling a home. “Focus on your community. Be the person who helps, and it’ll come back to you,” Samantha said.
That mindset led her to Worth Clark Realty in 2020, after she left Coldwell Banker. “I was tired of giving up so much of my commission,” she explained. “A mentor told me, ‘People don’t hire you because of your brokerage—they hire you because of you.’ And that stuck with me.”
At Worth Clark, she’s found the freedom to build her business authentically: “They let me be me. I don’t have to advertise the brokerage—I get to build my brand and know they’re there when I need support,” she said.
Life Beyond the Listings
When she’s not helping clients buy or sell homes, Samantha is all about family and community. Whether she’s coaching softball, leading a Bible study, or baking from scratch in her new small-town kitchen, she brings that same wholehearted commitment to her work in real estate.
“I love being involved,” she said. “My kids are active in sports and school, and I coach softball, which is special to me because I played too.”
Parting Words
Samantha prioritizes being present and committed to her real estate career. “Don’t go halfway in. If you want to serve clients well, you’ve got to be all in,” she said.
For those considering a career in real estate, Samantha offers this closing thought: “It’s not just about houses—it’s about people. Be committed. Know the market. Know your community. And always be the one who picks up the phone.”
After leaving Worth Clark Realty briefly last year, Samantha came home because she saw the value Worth Clark offers.
