When you first encounter Monika Granger, her warmth is instantly captivating. Between laughing about rainbow snuggies and chasing after her dog Bruno, she opens up about the winding path that led her into real estate—and the care she brings into every transaction.
A Background Rooted in Service
Before she became a licensed real estate agent, Monika spent six years in the mortgage department at U.S. Bank. “All we did was talk about escrows, balances, and payments,” she recalled. But it wasn’t until her own homebuying experience in 2017 that a spark was lit. Her agent at the time saw something in Monika: “She told me, ‘You should come join my team. You’re always on your way to a game or an event with your kids. Real estate could give you more flexibility.’” That idea stuck in her head.
Still, it wasn’t until 2019 that she finally took the leap, stepping out in faith, supported by her husband and motivated by a desire for more family time.
Hair Loss & Hustle
Monika joked that her dedication to studying, perched next to her favorite fireplace, was so intense that it literally burned her hair off. “I started losing hair on the left side of my head. My husband was like, ‘Get off that fireplace and breathe!’” she laughed.
The hair has since grown back, and so has her confidence. After initially failing one licensing exam by just two questions, Monika doubled down, finally passed, and began her career.
Finding Her Flow
Today, Monika finds joy in the people and places her job brings her to. She lights up when talking about home tours, discovering quirky features like secret bunkers, and helping families push through discouragement. “I’ve had clients take over a year to find the right home. When they finally do, they always say, ‘I’m so glad I didn’t give up.’ That’s the best part,” Monika said.
Her advice for new agents? Time block. “Turn it off when it's family time,” she said. “You’ll get distracted by social media if you don’t protect your time.”
Joining Worth Clark
Monika joined Worth Clark Realty in January 2024 after years with Keller Williams. So far, she’s had nothing but praise for the Worth Clark team. “Don Carrington has been so helpful as a managing broker, and Kristen Newman, who recruited me, has been great, too,” Monika said.
Beyond the supportive culture, Monika appreciates “a little more financial freedom.”
Life Outside Real Estate
When she’s not showing homes, Monika is a proud plant mom, obsessed with TikTok tutorials and growing her collection, especially her beloved Monstera plant. She also cherishes family time. “My husband and daughter love to cook, and we’re just 15 minutes from St. Louis, so we love exploring places like Union Station and City Museum,” she said.
A Voice Worth Hearing
One of the biggest hurdles for Monika? Her own voice. “I used to cringe at how I sounded, so I avoided video content,” she shared. But after pushing through that insecurity and posting real estate tips, she noticed a surge in engagement and leads.
Her biggest takeaway? “Stay encouraged. Don’t give up. You never know when a lead will fall into your lap. Just keep showing up—and be informative,” she said.
