A Denver Native with a Passion for Real Estate
Leslie Lowery isn’t just any real estate agent in Denver—she’s a fourth-generation local with deep roots in the community. She went to CU Boulder for college, where she majored in Business French and spent the following year living and working in France. As a fifth-generation Denverite, her daughter, Caroline, continues the family legacy in this vibrant Colorado city.
“I’m one of the few. People are like, ‘Can I shake your hand? You’re a native,'” Leslie jokes about her hometown status.
From Natural Products to Natural Talent in Real Estate
Leslie’s journey into real estate wasn’t a direct path. After college, she built her entrepreneurial skills in the natural products industry, selling health supplements, skincare products, and aromatherapy to health food stores.
“I had an epiphany one time when I was selling a $50 eye cream. I was like, ‘You know if I can sell hundreds of eye creams, I might as well just sell houses,'” Leslie recalls. With encouragement from her mother, Elaine, and her father, Ed, she transitioned over to real estate in 2006, and she hasn’t looked back during her impressive 19-year career.
Finding Her Home at Worth Clark Realty
After spending nearly a decade with an independent brokerage called Your Castle Real Estate and then a few years with Compass, Leslie and her team were ready for a change. They conducted thorough research, interviewing “about eight or ten brokerages” before finding their perfect match in Worth Clark Realty.
“Worth Clark Realty won because of what they had to offer us,” Leslie explains. The combination of favorable commission plans, excellent support tools, technology, and a strong sense of community made the difference.
Leslie, team leader of the Lowery Group – Denver, and team members Matthew Allen and Spencer Horne finished in the top three at Worth Clark Realty in 2024 for Colorado teams for both closed units and sales volume.
What Makes Real Estate Rewarding
For Leslie, the most rewarding part of real estate is connecting with clients and helping them through significant life transitions.
“It’s the excitement of when you are starting to work with a new client and discover who they are, what makes them tick, and what they’re passionate about,” she said. “If we’re selling their home, people kind of fall back in love with the home they’re selling. And if they’re buying their new home, that lights them up and gets them motivated. It’s just so fun to see people’s enthusiasm and excitement about a new beginning.”
Advice for New Agents
Leslie advises new agents struggling with lead generation to “follow-up until either you’re dead or they’re dead, or they basically tell you to get lost forever.”
She emphasizes the importance of persistence, noting that “most Realtors® follow-up maybe three times, and then they stop. You have to have a system to keep in touch with people consistently and over a very long time.”
And her favorite piece of advice? “Don’t count your chickens before they’ve hatched,” Leslie said, acknowledging the unpredictable nature of real estate. “It’s not a done deal till it’s a done deal.”
The Worth Clark Difference
Leslie particularly values Worth Clark’s lead-generation program, which has resulted in actual closings for her business. “I like that it’s free. I just pay the referral fee. They’re actually really decent leads,” she notes.
The company culture also stands out to her: “I can call Worth Clark’s support team, or I can call my local managing broker, Clark Hess, and they’ll pick up, and they know me. We have a very friendly professional rapport, and they’re very responsive.”
Leslie references Worth Clark’s accessible tools and 100% percent commission structure when convincing agents to join her at Worth Clark Realty. “At Worth Clark, you keep more of your earnings, and you get the tools included instead of paying your brokerage for things that don’t work,” Leslie said. ”Why would you want to give your hard-earned commission away? Some of these commission checks come with blood, sweat, and tears, and lots of wine.”
Beyond Real Estate: Colorado Adventures
Outside of real estate, Leslie fully embraces the Colorado lifestyle. She has been an avid mountain biker and road cyclist for decades and enjoys skiing, camping, and hiking in the Rocky Mountains.
Her other passions include seeing live music in smaller venues around Denver, enjoying craft beverages (she even hosts mixology events with her team), and spending quality time with her daughter and mother.
Denver Must-Dos for Newcomers
For those new to Denver, Leslie recommends three essential experiences:
- Visit Red Rocks Amphitheater for “amazing, breathtaking scenery.”
- Explore Union Station downtown and the surrounding LoDo (Lower Denver) area with its preserved historic buildings.
- Check out local independent restaurants and breweries to meet people in this “really friendly city.”
